Обсадная труба из стекловолокна

Corrosion resistance is the core reason for choosing a fiberglass casing pipe in the field. Many scientific literatures have documented at length about its advantages of being non-corrosive, heat-resistant, durable and lightweight. Published research papers have been giving an account of successful cases of application in Southeast Asia, North and South America and the Middle East.

Fiberglass Casing

FGS is now offering fiberglass casing pipes with operative lives of up to 50 years, helping our clients with direct cost savings not only in the form of reduced maintenance, well intervention and corrosion prevention, but also with regard to the replacement costs. The inner surface of a  fiberglass casing pipe is very smooth, reducing friction pressure losses and aids artificial lift, injection and disposal operations in both onshore and offshore fields. That is why it is often considered a favourable advantage.

Customized Resin Means Customized Resistance

FGS lets our clients choose the particular type of resin to customize the type of resistance they want. For example, some resins are resistant to microbial corrosion, while some can withstand CO2 corrosion. The mechanical strength and resulting performance of the fiberglass casing pipe are consolidated by our quality resin and high-end manufacturing methodology used. Compared to steel pipe productions, the design workflow for fiberglass pipes is case specific. Well data determines the design of individual pipes, the ratings and critical loading conditions. Therefore, the target well parameters need to be taken into account. Even though the price of downhole fiberglass is slightly higher than other materials, the pipe is often tailor-made for the specific well to ensure pressure and critical loading requirements are met.

GRE Casing Pipes Are Much Stronger

On top of supplying the typical fiberglass casing pipes, FGS also provides casing pipes which are specially built by a glass reinforced epoxy (GRE) resin material. The chemical component of the resin is a thermosetting aromatic amine-cured epoxy synthesized with continuous glass fibers. During the manufacturing process, a filament winding process, whereby the resin-infused glass fibers are wound onto a mandrel in a preset pattern under a controlled tension, is adopted for creating a Green Thread structure. Lengths of pipe are connected by keyed couplings and fiberglass adapters.

Application Of GRE Casing Pipes To Geothermal Solution

FGS aims at developing a comprehensive Glass-Reinforced Epoxy fiberglass casing system that involves integrating the GRE fiberglass casing pipe into the geothermal well design with all the necessary tools and downhole equipment. As most hydrothermal systems contain water with high salinity, the pipes carry a high chance to experience corrosion. Our GRE Casing Pipes resolve this problem by expanding the scope of application range of the fiberglass. GRE casings extend the life expectancy of geothermal wells to over 50 years, effectively minimizing the need for workovers so as to cut down more expenditures in the long run.
